News : McCaw - A Jailbird?
Photo : Rapist, Mr Stubby McCaw
Stubby McCaw, CEO of Sinners Estate Holdings and one of the most influential men in the city, has been jailed pending trial on charges of rape and assault.
McCaw is said to be falsely accused according to his fiancé, Miss Summer Grossberg who also said

"- if Mr. McCaw really did it, then he deserves what he gets. If he didn't, then there will be hell to pay, one way or another."
Miss Grossberg indicated that McCaw was being negligently treated in prison citing starvation as a prime example. According to Miss Grossberg,
"… they hadn't fed him for nearly two days"
The charges are being brought against McCaw by MarySue Delvalle who happens to be involved in the running of The Ravens Head Club, which rivals The 7 Deadly Sins Club that is owned by Miss Grossberg herself.
When asked if the accusation might be a case of corporate sabotage, Miss Grossberg declined to comment.

News: Traps in the Sewers
Photos were sent into the Daily Sins today depicting some of the terrifying objects that have come to light in the sewers of Sinners Rest City.
The photos, taken by Bay tattooist Tara Wittles and obtained by the paper depict bizarre cage entrapments and a device more suited to a medieval museum - a stretching rack.
Tara comments that the most terrifying thing about stumbling across these traps and machinery was that they seemed maintained somehow.
No police investigation appears to have been made into the manner or appearance of these public hazards. The paper feels obligated to advise citizens not to go exploring in the city's underground or sewers unaccompanied.

Other News : Blue Dawn Escapes Capture
Dead End - Friday 28th May 2009
Apprehended suspects of the 'Blue Dawn' terrorist organisation managed to escape police capture whilst being transported to a secure facility. A source for the Daily Sins revealed the two prisoners , Lynx Debruyere and Kara Nishi were detained for questioning but did not arrive on schedule.
The DEPD seem to be keeping this a hush up as no one was available to neither confirm or deny this particular jail break.
Lynx Debruyere is a person of key interest in the Laura Dreadlow Murder as Laura was reported to have been a frequent party guest at Lynx's wild parties, neighbours said.

News: Hair today, Gone tomorrow?
The once gloriously red locks of one Stubby McGinnis, local business owner, have been blemished by the attack of a woman upon both his person and his vanity. Mr. McGinnis, one of those men lucky enough to have all his hair even at the age he might be, was apparently the victim of an assault by Raynee Jewell, known to be an employee of Mr. Hawk Zsun, a local business owner himself, who has just recently owned a club within Sinner's Rest.
It seems that Ms Jewell, as well as her friend Ms. MarySue Devall, have some past grievance against Mr. McGinnis as the local rumor mill churns out.
At this time, no assault charges have been filed, but it seems, for the same of his health, sanity, and hair, Stubby has now opted to sue Mr Zsun for damages.
Oh, what a tangle we weave, when our combs do deceive!

Q's contemplations - Laura's journal:
I had a rather interesting meeting the other day with the reporter from the local paper known as the 'Daily Sin'. I think that Dita is actually the editor of the entire publication, and I have followed her stories with some interest. So far, she's actually managed to put out what seems to be facts without casting too much ugliness on what is already a bad situation with Laura's murders.
Dita mentioned about this possibly being related to other killings, or maybe it was that detective that did that. In any fashion, this could have been one more death in a string committed by the same person or group. I say group as I remember this cult being mentioned as well as Laura mentioning it. So, I have to put them into my list of suspects as well.
I need to find out more about Laura's boyfriend too. Isn't he likely to be high on the list of suspects? I'd think so. Dita and I talked about Laura's journal, and I remember. How could I forget?
Laura and I both kept them, and I know exactly where her's is hidden. I am going to retrieve her diary in the next couple of days.
Maybe it will shed some light on what happened, but if nothing else, at least I will get to feel her close again in some way. I really miss my best friend.

News : Ultor Investments Sinks Millions into Sinners Bay
Ultor Investments' CEO - Miss Shelbey Xue, has confirmed what has been previously rumored. In an exclusive interview, Miss Xue acknowledged that the company plans to invest in re-starting the prison in sinners bay that would see the facility to its full functioning capability.
Whilst exact figures were not discussed… Miss Xue also alluded that Ultor Investments had a wide range of interest in businesses within the vicinity - citing that Ultor was a multi-service industry.
Miss Xue was rather vague about these interests though 'Research' was discussed as one of the key directions of the company, as well as 'Event Security'.
Miss Xue herself hails from Cyan, but was tight lipped about her past simply stating that her reason for moving was that ".. it was getting a little rowdy there."
Ultor Investments is a relatively new company but is backed by Briden Co. Enterprise - a well established mass franchise whose company director is none other than Miss Xue's estranged Father.
Businesses seeking financial investment in the bay area now have an alternative to drawing loans from Sinners Bank and Trust. It looks like life in the bay area may just be looking up!

News : CLUB opens in Sinners Bay

Photo of Mr Dante Haustraun, CLUB spokes person and CEO
Consolidated Local Union of Businesses or CLUB , represented by Mr Dante Haustraun, was in Sinners Bay on Sunday evening to distribute information about the organisation.
The rather dashing Mr Haustraun, when asked about CLUB and it's activities said
"I'd like your readers to know that they aren't alone, that they don't have to be scared, and that there is hope for them and for this town. Let them know that I'm looking forward to getting to know each and every one of them, and that joining the CLUB is like joining a family; we take care of our own."
Mr Haustraun was of course referring to the recent migration out of Sinners Bay that has left some of the local businesses struggling for clientele in what was once a thriving tourist town… Some attribute this to the lack of police activity and ineptness in apprehending any suspects on the part of law enforcement in the murder of Laura Dreadlow. Others blame it on the wild life and rumoured hauntings.
Whatever the reason - it is clear that Sinners Bay is a town in crisis. Perhaps CLUB holds the rejuvenation the town needs to create a stable economy. Mr Haustraun truly believes that "…A strong union can affect change, but nothing in life comes for free. " as he spoke of the price it would cost local businesses on the margin, to buy into the idea of a union.
"..the reason these businesses haven't seen a customer in weeks is because the town is scared. If they join the CLUB, if they bolster our numbers, and they see the changes taking place, then the customers will return and the businesses will prosper…how can they afford NOT to join the CLUB?' "
In a tough economic year, businesses will want to see results and Mr Haustraun promises that he has hard evidence of similar businesses thriving in places where CLUB has rooted themselves. He further explains "…What happens when one business is burglarised? Nothing. The owner turns to the local police, and nothing is done about it. Now, what happens when all the local businesses turn to the local police and tell them to fix the problem or we'll find ourselves a new private police force? Then you'll see how quickly criminals are caught!"
The watch word here seems to be joint co-operation in putting pressure on the authorities in an organised fashion. Just how successful Mr Haustraun might be in convincing the locals in the bay area that this is the way forward , remains to be seen but it would seem the idea has merit.
More information about CLUB can be attained from the offices of CLUB in Sinners Bay that Mr Haustraun is currently setting up.

What dwells beneath the fair streets of Sinners Rest? Rats? Bats? Mutant cats? Perhaps all of the above, as well as something far more sinister.
Beneath a large apartment building, there is a hidden entrance to a sewer. It looks innocent enough, except for the cages scattered about on the landing. This area has a stench that sends the stomach turning away and the mind reeling, yet this girl ventured on, deep into the depths the sewer pipes under the streets.
Something terrible is lurking down here. Though I found no humans on my adventures through the twisting, turning pipes, there were signs of them all over, in the pile of ripped and dirty clothing on a landing, to a tiny boat docked in what appeared to be the harbor, and a large cage which could either accomodate a number of animals or humans.
Surely the police will want to investigate who has been down here and what they've been doing, especially after the murder of poor Laura Dreadlow. Could her abduction have anything to do with the hidden passages under the streets? Could an entire crime syndicate lurk just a few feet underground?
These tunnels could be a hub of illegal activity, of drug activity or even human trafficking. Why do the police not monitor these areas? Someone needs to answer for what is dwelling in the underbelly of the city and fast, before someone else ends up dead in the harbor.

This morning the prison phone in my office rang. However, from the beginning I got a strange feeling about the call. When I looked at the display screen rather than a phone number showing up, I only saw "UNKNOWN". Hesitantly, I answered the call where a masked voice said "The secret is here." Before I had time to ask a question, I heard the phone click then silence.
Immediately I had the SRPD trace all calls placed in the last hour, and the only one with *67 placed in front of it came from the office in the port.
Immediately I went to the port to try to catch whomever gave this tip to me for further questioning, but there wasn't a soul to be seen...anywhere.
After searching for "the secret" for over an hour, I stepped onto the docked boat and found handcuffs and a strange white mask. I can only assume that the mask was from a Hedoian. The clues are currently being analyzed by the SRPD. Further details will be released as confirmed.

News : Dead girl Laura involved in local cult.
Laura's murderer may have been amongst fellow cultists.
The Daily Sins has now learned that Laura Dreadlow had been involved with the religious order " Kingdom of Hedoia" and was " … very into it " according to local Hedoian organiser - Arwyn Quandry.
It was Miss Quandry who had recruited Laura into joining the Kingdom of Hedoia during one of the orders' recruitment drives; though when asked - denies having had any sexual relations with Laura herself. Miss Quandry goes on record as saying "… We believe that you should do what makes you happy and if a same-sex relationship does that , do it"
Miss Quandry had joined what she refers to as ".. A new religious order" as she felt repressed in her home town. Joining Hedoia had "…got me out of a rut and into something I loved and could have fun with"
However the fun seems to be over for poor Laura Dreadlow, whose badly abused body had been wrapped up in plastic and dumped in the port waters of Sinners Rest City on the 17th of April. The port authority was not available for comment at the time.
There is no doubt now that the religious practices of the Kingdom of Hedoia may have had some bearing in this case and that their activities will be of police interest.

Re-created image of possible religious acts as practiced by the Kingdom of Hedoia followers based on researched material
Some information about the Kingdom of Hedoia.
- The organization is known as The Great Kingdom of Hedoia.
- The Leader is called the Joker. He is considered the perfection of Flesh Form (the human body on Earth).
- After a Hedoian dies, they believe they will enter the Great Kingdom and fully enjoy themselves without fear.
- They believe in the Spirit of Hedos and often say goodbye to others by saying "May the Spirit bless you" or "May you be blessed with the Spirit's Joy".
- All members wear masks on official business such as recruiting or rallying. Others wear them off of business as well.
- The group is spreading slowly throughout major US, South American, and European cities.
- Illegal activity is not condoned by the group, though it is known to happen.
- Their biggest activity is recruitment.
- All of the Joker's decrees are optional to follow, but members generally listen.

Early Morning Coffee with Nancy Neiro
I read the newspaper report about the burglary at the therapists's practice, but I didn't connect it to the note I received until later. If nothing else, this has taught me that I need to be a lot sharper. I'm now thinking that the note probably came from a third party rather than from the therapist himself. Did this person know what to look for, or was the note to me just an opportunity taken after a chance find? I don't know for sure if there is a connection but it does at least give me something to go on, and now I have a name - Dr Jake Hobie.
Early the next morning I went to the Dogs Bollocks for a coffee. The coffee isn't great there but I like the feel of the place (when the owner isn't around) and the location, so close to the sea. It helps me to wake me up.

There was only one other patron in there at that time, Nancy, the cousin of poor Laura. I did want to speak to her but I hadn't planned on looking for her yet. She had far too many other things on her mind, after all.
I found her to be still edgy, which was no surprise, but on the whole she seems to be bearing up quite well. She's managed to find out a little more about her cousin's lifestyle, including some suggestions which are likely to raise a few eyebrows.
She also mentioned that the dead girl had been seeing Dr Hobie, which of course made me sit up and take notice. It seems he works out of a room over the Daily Sins newspaper office. I'll have to take a look. I could ask Dita what she knows about it, but I'll need to be careful what I say to her. She's sure to have a few questions of her own.
Anyway, back to Nancy. She said her mother amd Laura's are sisters, and that both she and Laura were only children. My heart went out to her when she said that. I did ask if she knew anything about Laura's father, but she said she knew very little. I can see I'm not going to have an easy time finding out more about that line.
We chatted a bit more and it seems that we have a few other mutual acquaintances in this and nearby towns, so it's likely we'll be seeing more of each other while she's around. She's a bright girl, but vulnerable, and I have an uneasy feeling she's going to have a lot more pain to go through before she finds any peace.
Later on I did get to speak to Dr Balut at the hospital. She didn't know Dr Hobie but offered to make enquiries. She'd read the newspaper report too, of course, and I expect she has her own reasons for wanting to find out more about him. On my way back I stopped off at his place but the door leading upstairs was locked and there was no reply when I rang the bell. The newspaper office was empty too so I shall have to try another day.

Letter to the Editor
A single page of black cardstock bearing the following message has been slipped under the door of the editor's office, on the evening of Sunday, May 2nd, in a brown manilla envelope. It is composed of individual letters and punctuation marks clipped from newsprint and ads, all in precise square and rectangular shapes of various sizes. It is possible that much of the text was cut from one or multiple issues of The Daily Sinner itself. In contrast to the obvious meticulous care that has been taken to make every edge straight and every angle perfect, the letters are not placed in straight lines, and they often overlap. There is, however, a clear, straight left margin with nothing in it. The final line, which might be intended as the author's signature, is the most crowded line of all, and nearly runs off the right edge of the page.
Well now, here is your window.
It's open now, I think you can handle it, I've watched you and think you're capable of understanding.
Laura. Little Laura...what was her last name? Precious? Adorable. Little Laura Five-dollar Handjob.
She was shit the first time. I let it slide, cause you know, you have to learn to function differently.
It takes time, Lord, I should know. Lord, why didn't you save her? She asked so many times.
Well, you didn't show, so I saved her.Saved her from herself, she was so lost. Body couldn't show her
the way out, so I did. Showed her the way out. and in. and out. and in. I need you to know, so that you
know she's happy now. Fucking her way through heaven.
See, I save people. I am people. I could be you, Icould be her, I was her. I was her. I was her. I was her.
She was me. I'm everyone, eventually.
I'll even tell you where to find me. Look where people are free. Look where people are free to give themselves.
Laura did.

News : Burglary reveals dead girl had mental problems.
A burglary that had recently taken place indicates that dead girl, Laura Dreadlow, had been seeing a therapist. Sources say that Dr Jake Hobie, the therapist in question, had been struck on the head by a paperweight and left unconscious, as his office was ransacked for notebooks and tapes. Amongst the property stolen from his office were two years worth of recorded therapy sessions between Dr Hobie and Laura.
Dr Hobie's part time secretary was also a victim in this crime though she eventually managed to find help for her boss by dialing 911 despite her struggles in bondage.
The theft comes as a blow as these therapy sessions may well have been able to shed some light and provide possible new leads for the ongoing investigation into the murder of Laura Dreadlow.
Both Agent Dresden and Dr. Hobie were unavailable for comment during time of print.

Finally at aproximately anywhere from 6pm - 1am the dresses previously stolen from the laundromat were returned to the premises covered in sewer filth. In its place an IOU note detailed 2 new missing dresses and 2 pairs of jeans.
Crime prevention advice as provided by the experts :
Preventing crime pays!
Businesses are more at risk of crime than private households. Reducing the risk of crime will help protect your profits and make sure that the people who work with you are safe.
Everyone needs to play a part in tackling crime effectively - the police and other public services, businesses and residents.
If you’ve already been a victim of crime, taking action to prevent further incidents is particularly important.
Whatever you decide:
● do a few things - don’t rely on one solution
● involve everyone who works in your store and use their experience
● remember partnership pays! You’ll be able to do more by working with others.
